About the Boston Police Relief Association
For more than 150 years, the Boston Police Relief Association has stood beside Boston Police officers and their families, providing support during times of hardship, honoring service and sacrifice, and strengthening connections within the Boston community.
A Proud History Since 1871
The Boston Police Relief Association (BPRA) was organized in 1871 and incorporated under Massachusetts law in 1876. For generations, the Association has provided a strong network of support for the men and women of the Boston Police Department and the families who stand behind them.
BPRA membership is comprised of sworn Boston Police personnel, regardless of rank, and the Association is governed by a Board of Directors elected by its members.
Supporting Officers & Their Families
BPRA was founded to assist members and their families during some of life's most difficult circumstances, including illness, disability, and the loss of a member or spouse.
That commitment remains at the heart of the Association today. When a Boston Police officer or family faces an unexpected hardship or loss, BPRA works to provide meaningful assistance and support when it matters most.
